Knowledge Resource Sustainability Consulting is a consulting and project management firm that works with organizations in all levels of building and construction to develop and achieve sustainability and energy goals. Our firm works with projects seeking sustainability certifications such as LEED, WELL, and LBC. We also work with projects seeking energy analysis, reconfiguration, and certification.

As sustainability requirements become more restrictive, not only in certification levels, but also in governmental requirements, we are equipped with 20 years of experience and are prepared to develop, in conjunction with the full design team, a strategic sustainability plan that will effectively manage many of the factors that impact the sustainability performance and goals of your projects. 

Established in 2006, Knowledge Resource set out to be a company that would assist sub-contractors with the difficult, tedious and often misunderstood requirements of the various sustainability certifications. Since then, KR has grown into a company that now provides services to a wide range of clientele, from working with government agencies to consult on projects costing over 10 million dollars to small local woodworkers handling projects with material costs of less than 10 thousand dollars.

Our goal is to alleviate architects, contractors and subcontractors of the pressure and time consuming task of verifying that the correct materials are specified, purchased and used, that all the paperwork is concise and accurate,maintaining the proper supporting documents, and submit all materials to the correct agencies for final review and certification. When working with KR, our clients are able to put the researching, meetings, correlating and the finalizing of all documentation in our hands. We assume the responsibility of working with all employees and subs to ascertain that they understand exactly what is required of them throughout the entire process.

KR proprietor, Maggie Sciubba, has over 20 years of construction experience. Maggie was first introduced to the construction world when she was hired as an assistant contract specialist for a major NYC woodworking firm. She quickly grasped the "ins and outs" of the woodworking construction world, and it was there that the turning point in her career path took place. The woodworking company was awarded a project to fabricate all of the high-end woodworking at the Hearst Building, the first LEED certified project in NYC. She was told that all the materials had to be LEED compliant, but at this time LEED was a new concept and almost completely unknown. It was then, that Maggie noticed the anguish that her employer as well as other subcontractors were going through to comply with these requirements. It was this observation that motivated her to set out on her own.

That inspired moment is the foundation for what Knowledge Resource is today.
